Amy Fazio for PA House 14
14th District PA House of Representatives candidate, Amy Fazio, is a resident of Daugherty Township, PA and the founder of Fazio & Associates where she serves as a strategic planning consultant to empower the region’s small business and nonprofit leaders to achieve intention, focus, accountability and results.
Over the past twenty years, the variety of roles in which Amy has served – educator, volunteer, community organizer, community health counselor, nonprofit executive, CEO, consultant, and business owner – have contributed to her well-rounded perspective. The organizations she served, including the Colorado District Attorney’s office Domestic Abuse Prevention Task Force, Penn State Beaver Adult Literacy Action, Glade Run Lutheran Services, Affordable Comfort Inc, and the many business and nonprofit clients she serves today, have provided Amy a myriad of opportunities to help advance the missions and goals of organizations, businesses, and communities. Her career path has always been in alignment with her passion for community organization, collaboration, civics, and social justice.
Amy was born and raised in Buffalo, NY by her mother, who was a homemaker, and her father who is a retired police officer, firefighter, Korean War veteran, and entrepreneur. They impressed upon Amy, her brother, and sister, the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion, and the importance of always trying to understand the perspective, struggles, and joys of others. This foundation grew stronger as she studied to earn her Bachelor’s in History and her Master’s in Political Science. Amy was the first in her family to receive an advanced degree – an accomplishment highly encouraged by her parents who regarded education as a key to success.
Amy’s work in the community further enhanced her foundational values. She heard many stories of injustice, suffering, hope, perseverance, and faith. She saw, firsthand, that most people are truly doing the best they can, and that the more opportunity that is provided and the more barriers are removed, the more manageable and even magical life can become. These experiences and insights have led to Amy’s commitment to running for office and working toward just, compassionate, and effective policies that empower people to collaborate for the common good of our local community and our national community.
Currently, Amy serves on the boards of the New Brighton Area School District, the Beaver Valley Montessori School, and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, she was named by Pennsylvania Business Central as one of “Foremost under Forty Leaders,” and was interviewed as part of the National “See Women Lead” Project. She also volunteers as a coach with Girls on the Run to inspire young girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
Amy’s husband, Bryan, is a professional musician and teacher, and their 11-year-old daughter, Sundi is a student at New Brighton School District and loves gymnastics and softball. Bryan also attended New Brighton and his father, Greg Fazio, taught civics there for more than 30 years and coached more than 60 seasons of baseball and tennis. The Fazio family spans five generations in New Brighton.
