Linda Kay Sosniak for PA House 84
Linda Sosniak, a Democratic member of the Picture Rocks Borough Council, is running for the Pennsylvania 84th Legislative District.
Running against an entrenched party-politician will not be easy, but as the daughter of a seamstress and a truck driver, she knows the value of working hard to get the job done.
Linda graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology with an Associate’s degree in Accounting and Business Management, and then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of Phoenix.
She retired after 28 years of service with the United States Postal Service, serving as Postmaster for Linden, Milton, and State College, PA; Hilton Head Island, SC; Savannah, GA; and finally for Scranton, PA. During her career with the USPS she earned numerous awards and graduated from the USPS Advanced Leadership Academy.
In 2018 the citizens of the 84th will have an opportunity to vote for a candidate who is willing to do the hard work of finding common ground with other districts and begin to solve our state budget woes. Linda believes that we must expand our approach to job growth and push harder for our fair share of infrastructure repairs.
Our farmers and ranchers need access to more and new competitive markets. Our Union workers need to know that we respect their right to organize to protect their safety and receive a fair wage for their work. Our small and midsized manufacturing businesses need more cooperation from state agencies, especially in bridging the gaps so that they can remain competitive as new technology changes older business models.
International and national oil and gas companies must be held accountable for what they do to our environment and be required to pay more to help us protect our drinking water, keep our roads safe, and maintain our bridges.
As your state representative, Linda will work diligently to improve the social, economic, and environmental programs her constituents rely on. The 84th encompasses the majority of Lycoming County and a corner of Union County. Townships and boroughs on the east side, west side, and north-central part of the district all need a new voice advocating for them, their families, and their livelihoods.
Linda is running to stand up to the political managers and “party first” politicians who run the state legislature, to push past the roadblocks that keep progressive economic legislation held up in committees, to find cooperative solutions to common problems, and to fight for the everyday needs of families.
Linda was born in the Hughesville area and raised her family of three children there: Michael, Charles, and Nicole. She has been active in the local community helping to develop and raise the funds for the Little Spartan Wrestling Program and the East Lycoming Pop Warner Football Program .
Linda lives in Picture Rocks with her husband Johnny and their two dogs, Fanci and Reases. Johnny is retired with 24 years of active service in the United States Army.
Her campaign will be a bi-partisan effort to bring people together. Politics has changed in Pennsylvania, as it has in our nation. Linda’s candidacy is part of the movement to elect the right people to represent you, versus candidates who only do as their party says. Join Linda Sosniak in her efforts to become a new voice representing you in the 84th.
