Rick Rogers for PA House 81
Rick Rogers is a Huntingdon County Native. After graduating from Captain Jack High School in 1965, enlisted in the United States Navy. Served one tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. After completing enlistment obligation in the U.S. Navy, returned to Pennsylvania and attended Lock Haven University then transferred to Penn State University. Received B.S. Degree in Community Development from Penn State University. Also attended University of Boston –Masters Educational Psychology Program and Penn State University – Masters Vocational Education Program.
Rejoined the military as a Commission Officer, and was commissioned 2Lt in the US Army Medical Service Corps in 1974. While serving, completed Basic Officer Course, Advanced Officer Course, Command General Staff Course, and Security and Officer Personnel Course. As an Army officer, served four years in Europe (Germany) as well as stationed in Illinois, Spain, New Mexico, and Georgia. Retired from the Army as a Major in 1993 as a 27-year military veteran.
It is very important that we all give back and get involved in our community. Currently am a community advocate, a part-time substitute instructor at Huntingdon Career and Technology Center, a transport driver for disabled veterans, a member of the local Blue Print Community, Huntingdon County Comprehensive Plan Committee, Mt. Union VFW, and Mt. Union American Legion. In 2016, ran strong race for State Representative here in the 81st District.
